Remote support sessions with Secure Nerds
Secure Nerds technicians can securely connect to your computer to resolve issues, using ConnectWise ScreenConnect. Remote sessions are only ever started at your request — during a phone call or booked appointment with our team.
Before you join a session
- You should be on the phone with, or in an active booking with, a Secure Nerds technician. If you’re not, do not proceed.
- Your technician will give you a one-time session code. Sessions cannot be joined without one.
- Joining a session downloads the ScreenConnect client, which lets our technician view and control your computer for that session only.
⚠️ Beware of remote-access scams
Scammers impersonate IT companies and pressure people into installing remote-access software. Secure Nerds will never:
- Cold-call you about a virus, hack, or compromised account
- Ask you to install software from an email or SMS link you didn’t request
- Ask for internet banking passwords, one-time codes, or payment by gift card or cryptocurrency
If someone claiming to be from Secure Nerds (or “Microsoft”, your bank, or the NBN) has asked you to install remote software and you didn’t contact us first — hang up and call us on 1300 500 004 to verify.
