Managed IT for Australian small business
Secure Nerds is a Brisbane-based managed IT provider for Australian small business. One monthly price from $1,000 covers Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, the website and domain, DMARC, a 24/7 security operations centre, managed EDR and ITDR, basic SEO and business-hours remote support. Onsite visits are available in six capitals and are charged separately.
Most small businesses don’t need an IT manager. They need someone who owns the whole thing — email, security, the website, the domain, the laptops — and answers the phone when it breaks. That’s the job we do, for one monthly price.

The package
Most providers quote per device, then bill separately for the website, the domain and anything security-related. We don’t. Here is the whole footprint of a small business, in one agreement.

What we run
Most businesses reach us holding three vendors and no one accountable. Everything below sits under a single agreement.
Monitoring, patching, onboarding and the day-to-day running of every machine in the business.
→Managed EDR and ITDR through Huntress, backed by a 24/7 security operations centre.
→Whichever platform you’re on — licensing, mailboxes, file storage and the tidying up.
→Backups that are tested, not assumed, with a written plan for getting you trading again.
→Firewalls, switching, Wi-Fi and cabling — designed for the building you actually work in.
→A number your staff can call in business hours, answered by people who know your systems.
→Hosting, renewals, DNS and the basic search work — the part most IT providers refuse to touch.
→Where you sit against the ACSC Essential Eight, and a realistic order to fix it in.
→Business phone systems that move with your staff instead of tying them to a desk.
→Industries
A real estate office and a plumbing business have almost nothing in common technically. These are the sectors we work in most, and what changes for each.
Agents working from cars, trust account data, and the payment-redirection fraud that targets settlement funds.
Real estate IT →Volunteer turnover, donor records, and the discounted Microsoft and Google licensing most charities never claim.
Not-for-profits IT →Job management software, quoting from site, and keeping a field team’s tablets working in summer peak.
Air conditioning IT →Scheduling, invoicing from the van, and phone systems that never send an after-hours callout to voicemail.
Plumbing IT →Compliance certificates, site photos that have to be kept, and data that can’t live only on a phone.
Electrical IT →Accountants, brokers and consultants — client confidentiality, records retention and busy-season load.
Professional services IT →Coverage
Australia is a big place to promise a technician. So we say exactly which cities we attend in person and which we manage remotely — before you ask.
Around Brisbane we also attend site across the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Moreton Bay, Redland.
The Australian baseline
The Australian Cyber Security Centre publishes eight controls that stop most of what actually happens to small business. We assess against them and tell you where you stand.
How we work
Licences, domains and tenancies are registered to your business, not ours. If you leave, you leave with everything.
Support, security, cloud, website and phones all sit with us. When something breaks there is one number, and no argument about whose fault it is.
What changed, what it cost, what needs deciding. Written for a business owner, not for another engineer.
