Network & infrastructure

Networks designed for the building you work in.

Secure Nerds designs and manages business networks: firewalls, switching, Wi-Fi and structured cabling, plus office fit-outs and moves. Network management is included in the managed package from $1,000 per month for up to five users. Onsite attendance across six capitals and South East Queensland is charged separately.

Wi-Fi that drops in the back office, a modem doing a firewall’s job, and cabling nobody has labelled since the fit-out. Most small business networks were never designed — they accumulated.

What’s included

How it works in practice.

Perimeter

A real firewall, configured

Not the router your internet provider posted out. Rules that reflect what should be reachable and what should not, reviewed when the business changes.

Coverage

Wi-Fi that works in the far corner

Access points positioned for the floor plan, on channels that don’t fight the tenancy next door. Measured, not guessed.

Cabling

Labelled and documented

So the next person — including us — can trace a fault without pulling the ceiling apart.

Moves

Fit-outs planned around trading

Cabling, network, phones and the cutover scheduled so the business opens normally the next morning.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Our internet is slow. Is that a network problem?

Sometimes, and often not. It can be the connection, the Wi-Fi, a single misbehaving device or the application itself. We measure before recommending anything, because upgrading the wrong one is an expensive way to change nothing.

Do we need a server?

Fewer businesses do than assume they do. If your files and email are in Microsoft 365 or Google, a server is often a cost and a risk you can retire. If a line-of-business application needs one, we’ll say so.

Can you handle an office move?

Yes, and it’s a large part of what we do around Brisbane. Cabling, network, phones and the physical move of any equipment, planned as one project.
